PCV Vent Hose Assembly for Subaru Engines

This molded hose is a key link in the Positive Crankcase Ventilation system. It safely routes oily blow‑by vapors back to the intake so the engine burns them, keeping emissions low and the crankcase clean. Built to factory geometry, it resists heat, oil, and vacuum collapse for a stable idle and clean running .

Why you need it

Without a healthy PCV hose, pressure builds in the crankcase, forcing oil past seals and gaskets. A correct-fit hose keeps vacuum balanced, reduces sludge, and protects catalytic converters by preventing excessive oil vapor from entering the exhaust.

How it works

Under manifold vacuum, the hose connects the PCV valve to the intake tract. Vapors flow one way through the valve, across this hose, and are reburned. The hose’s molded bends prevent kinks, while reinforced ends hold clamps tight ✅.

What happens if it’s broken

Cracks or hardening create a vacuum leak: rough idle, whistling, lean codes (P0171), fuel trim spikes, oil smell, increased consumption, and a Check Engine light ⚠️. A split hose can draw unmetered air, causing misfires and failed emissions. Long term, sludge and seal wear increase.

Tech notes

Inspect at 60–100k miles or during PCV valve service. Replace warm, swap one end at a time, fit new clamps, and verify the valve rattles and flows one way ♻️.
