PCV Ventilation Hose Assembly for Subaru Engines ️
This crankcase ventilation hose assembly is a key link between the engine’s PCV system and the intake path. It is needed to safely route oily blow-by vapors out of the crankcase, helping the engine breathe correctly and keeping internal pressure under control.
How It Works ✅
During normal running, a small amount of combustion gas slips past the piston rings. This hose carries those vapors to the intake where they can be burned again. The molded shape and reinforced rubber are designed to resist oil mist, heat, and vacuum pull without collapsing. Tight sealing ends prevent unmetered air leaks that can confuse fuel trim.
Why Replacing It Matters
If the hose cracks, softens, or splits, you may get rough idle, whistling noises, oil smell, increased oil consumption, and lean-mixture fault codes. A broken line can also raise crankcase pressure, leading to oil seepage from gaskets and seals. In cold weather, a restricted or damaged hose can worsen sludge and moisture buildup.
Technician Tip
Inspect for hardening near bends, oil sweating, and loose clamps. Always ensure snug fitment to avoid vacuum leaks after installation.
