PCV Hose Assembly — Clean Breathing for Your Engine
This molded Positive Crankcase Ventilation hose keeps your engine breathing right. It routes blow‑by gases from the crankcase back into the intake to be burned, reducing oil sludge, crankcase pressure, and emissions. A fresh, tight hose restores correct vacuum, steadies idle, and protects seals—vital for long engine life and smooth drivability.
How it Works ♻️
Under manifold vacuum, the PCV valve meters vapor flow through this formed tube into the intake stream. The hose must resist heat and oil mist while holding its precise shape, preventing kinks and leaks. Proper routing maintains flow, and snug connections ensure metered air only—no unmeasured air sneaking past the MAF.
What Happens if It’s Damaged ⚠️
- Rough idle, hesitation, or stalling from vacuum leaks
- Lean codes and check engine light (e.g., P0171)
- Oil smell, wet dipstick tube, or popped seals from excess pressure
- Increased sludge and moisture (milky oil cap in cold weather)
- Higher fuel use and possible catalyst stress
Tech Notes & Install Tips
- Replace the hose together with the PCV valve if aged
- Warm the ends for easier fit; reuse or renew clamps as needed
- Follow OEM routing—no twists, no kinks, no sealant
- Inspect tees, grommets, and ports for brittleness or carbon
- Service interval: inspect every oil change; replace when hard or cracked
