PCV Valve (Crankcase Breather) for Nissan Engines
Keep blow‑by gases under control and your engine breathing right. This OE‑quality PCV valve is built to stabilize idle, reduce emissions, and protect seals by managing crankcase pressure. A fresh unit helps prevent oil sludge, fuel smells, and moisture build‑up while improving long‑term engine health.
Why this part is needed ️
It vents oil vapors from the crankcase back into the intake to be burned, preventing pressure spikes, oil leaks, and dirty deposits. Proper ventilation means smoother idle, cleaner oil, and consistent fuel economy.
How it works ⚙️
Inside is a spring‑loaded one‑way valve. Engine vacuum meters the flow: at idle it restricts, under cruise it opens, and during a backfire it snaps shut. This controlled path recycles vapors without pulling in unmetered air.
What happens if it’s faulty
Stuck closed: crankcase pressure rises, causing leaks, gasket weep, and sludge. Stuck open: rough idle, lean mix, high fuel use, oil in intake, smoke, and possible check‑engine light. Hoses may collapse or whistle.
