This component seals and supports the front section of the engine where the timing drive runs. It is needed to keep the timing area protected, oil-tight, and correctly aligned, so the engine can run smooth and stay properly lubricated. A good housing also helps reduce vibration and keeps dirt, water, and road grit away from sensitive moving parts.
How it works βοΈ
The case forms a rigid cover around the timing mechanism and provides mounting points for seals and gaskets. It guides proper oil flow to the timing zone and keeps internal pressure under control.
