Engine Cylinder Head Cover (No.2) – OEM-grade seal and ventilation control πŸ”§

This upper cover closes the top of the cylinder head, keeping engine oil inside and dirt outside. It guides oil return, protects camshaft area, and houses the crankcase ventilation path. A healthy cover keeps your engine clean, quiet, and leak-free πŸ›’οΈ.

Why you need it

Heat cycles and vibration can warp or crack the cover, flatten grommets, and harden the gasket. The result is oil seepage, burned-oil smell, wet coil wells, and messy engine bays. Replacing the cover restores proper sealing and breather flow, reducing idle issues and emissions.

How it works

Together with a perimeter gasket and tube seals, the cover makes an oil-tight, air-tight joint to the head. Internal baffles control oil splash while routing vapor to the PCV system. Correct bolt torque spreads clamping evenly, protecting the head and gasket.

If it fails ⚠️

  • Oil leaks onto exhaust: smoke and possible fire risk
  • Misfires from oily spark plug tubes
  • Vacuum leak: rough idle, higher fuel use
  • Low oil level and faster engine wear

Pro tips for install βœ…

  • Always fit a fresh gasket and grommets
  • Clean mating surfaces; no debris
  • Torque bolts in sequence, to spec
  • Inspect/replace PCV valve and coil tube seals
  • Use sealant only at corner joints if specified
