Engine Oil Sump Assembly for Nissan 4x4 and Bus Platforms ️
This lower crankcase reservoir holds, cools, and returns lubricant to the pump. Built to OEM geometry, it seals the bottom of the block, keeps oil around the pickup during hard angles, and resists corrosion. Ideal for tough duty and long-distance driving, it supports steady oil pressure and quiet operation.
Why your engine needs it
The sump stores the full oil charge, controls slosh with internal baffles, and works with a gasketed flange to stop leaks. It also helps shed heat from the oil film, protecting bearings, camshafts, and timing parts.
How it works ⚙️
Return oil drains by gravity into the pan. The pickup sits near the lowest point, drawing fluid through a screened inlet to the pump. Correct depth and shape keep the pickup submerged during braking, cornering, or off‑road climbs.
What happens if it’s damaged ❗
Dents, cracks, or a warped flange cause leaks and aeration. Signs include oil spots, smell on exhaust, low‑pressure light, lifter tick, or bearing knock. Continued driving risks oil starvation, turbo wear, and severe engine failure. Replace promptly and inspect the pickup for debris.
Install tips
Clean mating faces, use fresh gasket/RTV at joints, torque bolts in a cross pattern, fit a new drain plug washer, and refill with the specified grade. Verify pressure after start and check for seepage.
