Engine Piston & Wrist Pin Kit — OEM 1110D624
This precision piston assembly is built for durability and clean combustion in modern Mitsubishi engines. A lightweight, heat‑treated alloy body with low‑friction skirt coating keeps the cylinder sealed, reduces wear, and maintains factory power and efficiency. Ideal for rebuilds or when restoring compression and oil control. ⚙️
Why you need it
The piston forms the combustion chamber seal, drives the crank via the rod, and manages oil with its ring grooves. Healthy pistons mean easy starts, stable idle, strong torque, and correct emissions.
How it works
On each stroke, rings seal gas pressure while the full‑floating wrist (gudgeon) pin links the piston to the connecting rod. The crown shape controls flame travel; the coated skirt reduces friction and noise for long life ️.
What happens if it’s damaged
Expect low compression, misfires, hard starts, blue smoke, high oil use, blow‑by, piston slap, metal in oil, scored bores, and even seizure. Prolonged driving can harm the catalyst/turbo and escalate to total engine failure.
Install notes
Measure bore, hone properly, verify skirt clearance, set ring gaps and stagger, lubricate pin/small end, fit new circlips, orient crown mark correctly, and torque to spec. Change oil after break‑in .
