Why you need it ️
Replacing a worn pin restores piston stability, protects cylinder walls, and keeps compression tight. It prevents piston slap, knock, and hot spots, helping your engine stay reliable under towing or high mileage.
How it works ⚙️
The wrist pin passes through the piston boss and the small end of the rod, allowing the piston to pivot as the rod swings. With floating designs, circlips secure the pin; an oil film carries the load and prevents metal-to-metal contact.
If it fails ❗
Expect cold-start rattle, loss of power, metallic knock under load, scuffed skirts, scored cylinder, metal debris in oil, and in extreme cases a seized engine or broken rod.
