This hardened insert creates the sealing surface for the intake valve in the cylinder head. It keeps compression tight, cools the valve by transferring heat to the head, and ensures smooth breathing for strong low-end torque and clean idle. Built from wear-resistant alloy, it resists pounding, detonation, and today’s unleaded fuels .
Why you need it
Over time the original seat can pit, recede, or go out of round. Replacing it restores correct valve height, stable compression, and reliable cold starts. It’s a smart fix during head rebuilds or after valve burning.
How it works
The insert is press-fitted into the head and precision-cut (multi-angle) to match the valve face. When the valve closes, it seals combustion and sheds heat through the seat to the head for long life ♨️.
If it’s worn or broken ⚠️
Expect hard starting, misfire, loss of power, poor fuel economy, backfiring, and low compression. Continued driving can burn the valve, damage the head, and contaminate the catalytic converter.
Tech notes
