Engine Coolant Outlet Neck (Water Outlet) ?
This cooling-system outlet is the passage where hot coolant leaves the engine and moves toward the upper radiator hose and thermostat area. It is needed to keep coolant flowing in the correct direction, hold pressure, and provide a sealed connection between the engine and radiator circuit. When the engine warms up, the thermostat opens and coolant exits through this outlet, helping stabilize temperature during traffic, towing, or long highway runs.
How it works ?
The outlet bolts to the engine and routes coolant through a shaped neck. Inside/nearby, the thermostat controls when flow increases. A gasket or O-ring seals the joint, and the hose clamp keeps the hose tight so the system can maintain proper pressure.
Why it matters
A healthy outlet prevents leaks, air pockets, and weak circulationβkey for avoiding overheating and protecting the head gasket.
