Engine Thermostat Cover
This cooling system cover seals the thermostat housing to keep coolant flowing in a controlled, leak-free circuit. It is needed to hold the thermostat firmly in place and maintain correct pressure, so the engine warms up fast and then stays at a stable operating temperature .
How It Works
Bolted to the engine coolant outlet, the cover clamps the thermostat and gasket/O-ring. When the engine is cold, coolant circulation is limited to help quick warm-up. As temperature rises, the thermostat opens and the cover guides coolant toward the radiator, preventing bypass leaks and pressure loss.
What Happens If It’s Broken
A cracked or warped cover can cause coolant seepage, air entering the system, and unstable temperature. You may see overheating, slow cabin heat, coolant smell, or repeated low coolant warnings. Severe leaks can lead to head gasket damage and engine failure .
