Thermostat Housing Cover for Subaru Cooling System

This precision cover seals the thermostat and coolant outlet, keeping your Subaru’s engine at the correct temperature. A tight, flat mating surface with a fresh gasket or O-ring prevents leaks, keeps system pressure stable, and protects the thermostat from movement. Built for OE fit, it ensures reliable warm-up, steady operating temps, and long water pump life.

Why you need it ❄️♨️

Without a proper housing cover, coolant can escape, air can enter, and temperature control becomes unstable. This part locks the thermostat in position and directs coolant from the engine to the upper radiator hose safely.

How it works

The cover bolts to the water outlet, compressing the gasket/O-ring to form a seal. It holds the thermostat in its seat, channels flow to the radiator, and maintains pressure so the thermostat opens and closes at the right temperature.

What happens if it’s damaged ⚠️

Cracks, warping, or corrosion cause leaks, air pockets, overheating, temp spikes, weak cabin heat, and possible head gasket stress. You may smell coolant, see residue, or notice frequent top-ups.

Quick install tips

Clean both surfaces, use a new gasket/O-ring, torque bolts evenly to spec, and bleed the cooling system to remove air.
