Crankshaft Damper Pulley for Mitsubishi Trucks & SUVs
This heavy-duty crankshaft pulley (harmonic balancer) keeps your engine smooth and your belts in perfect line. Built with a steel hub and a bonded rubber damper ring, it matches OE balance and groove spacing for reliable accessory drive and long belt life.
Why you need it
It drives the serpentine/aux belts for alternator, A/C, power steering, and water pump. At the same time, it absorbs torsional vibration from the crankshaft, protecting bearings, timing gear, and seals while reducing noise and harshness.
How it works
The inner hub locks to the crank nose; a precision elastomer isolates the outer ring with belt grooves. As cylinders fire, the damper counters twist, stabilizes RPM, and keeps belts tracking straight—especially under load and at idle.
If it fails ⚠️
Signs include wobble, squeal, cracked rubber, belt slip, battery warning, overheating, heavy steering, weak A/C, and vibration. Continued use may shear the keyway, shred belts, damage the crank snout, or cause oil seal leaks. Replace at first symptoms.
Tech notes ✅
Inspect belts and tensioner, clean the crank nose, align key, and torque the center bolt to spec. Avoid oil on the damper rubber; replace the bolt if the manual requires it.
