Engine Cylinder Head Sealing Gasket

🛠️ This sealing gasket sits between the cylinder head and the engine block. It is needed to lock in combustion pressure while keeping coolant and engine oil in their correct passages. A healthy seal helps the engine run smooth, hold proper compression, and maintain stable temperature.

How It Works

The gasket is a layered, heat-resistant seal that is clamped tight when the head bolts are torqued to spec. It fills tiny surface imperfections and creates separate “channels” so oil can lubricate the valvetrain, coolant can control heat, and combustion stays inside the cylinders where it belongs.

Why Replacing It Matters

If this gasket fails, the engine can start mixing oil and coolant, lose compression, or push exhaust gas into the cooling system. ⚠️ Common signs include overheating, white smoke, bubbling in the radiator, rough idle, and unexplained coolant loss. Driving with a blown seal can warp the cylinder head and damage bearings—turning a small repair into a full rebuild.
