Crankshaft Oil Seal (Engine Front/Rear) οΈ
This seal is a small but critical barrier that keeps engine oil inside the crankcase while the crankshaft spins at high speed. Itβs needed to prevent oil loss, protect the timing area/belt cover zone from contamination, and maintain stable lubrication pressure for bearings and journals.

The sealβs flexible lip rides on the crankshaft surface and forms a tight, oil-resistant contact line. A reinforced body holds its shape in the housing, while the lip constantly βwipesβ oil back inward during rotation. Good sealing helps reduce misting and keeps dirt out of the engine.

When worn, hardened, or cut, it can leak steadily. Oil may drip near the crank pulley or bellhousing area, soak rubber parts, and attract dust.
