Crankshaft Front Oil Seal for Mitsubishi Engines ️
This compact seal keeps engine oil inside and dirt outside where the crankshaft passes through the timing cover. It’s a small part with a big job: maintaining clean lubrication and stable crankcase pressure for smooth, long-lasting performance.
Why this part is needed ✅
Without a healthy crankshaft oil seal, oil escapes, belts get soaked, and the engine runs hotter and louder. The seal preserves oil level, protects timing components, and keeps the accessory drive clean.
How it works ⚙️
A flexible lip made from heat- and oil-resistant rubber hugs the crank snout. A tiny garter spring keeps steady tension, while the rotating shaft creates a thin oil film that seals microscopically. The outer shell locks in the cover; the inner lip rides the crank, controlling both oil and dust.
When the seal is failing ️
Look for fresh oil at the crank pulley, belt squeal, burning oil smell, drops under the front of the car, rising consumption, and potential timing belt contamination—risking slip and serious engine damage.
Tech tips
Inspect the crank surface, clean the bore, lightly oil the lip, and press the seal squarely to spec. Avoid dry installation and protect the spring side from damage.
