Rocker Cover Assembly for Mitsubishi Engines ️
This rocker cover assembly is a vital top-engine sealing part that sits over the valve train area. Its main job is to
keep engine oil inside the cylinder head while protecting rocker arms, cam area, and valve components from dust, water,
and road grime. A correct seal also helps the crankcase ventilation system work properly, reducing oil vapors and messy
leaks.
Why this part is needed ✅
The engine constantly splashes oil around the valvetrain for lubrication. The cover and its gasket create a tight barrier,
so oil stays where it should, and the engine bay stays clean. It also helps maintain stable internal pressure so seals and
PCV flow can do their job.
How it works
The cover bolts to the cylinder head and clamps a gasket along the mating surface. When torqued correctly, it forms an
even seal around corners, bolt holes, and breather ports, preventing seepage while allowing controlled ventilation through
connected hoses.
What happens if it’s cracked or leaking ⚠️
A damaged cover or hardened gasket can cause oil leaks onto the engine, exhaust, or belts—leading to burning oil smell,
smoke, misfires from oil-soaked plugs/coils, and faster dirt buildup. Long-term leaks may lower oil level and increase wear.
