Right-Hand Rocker/Valve Cover for Mitsubishi engines
This RH rocker (valve) cover seals the top of the cylinder head and shields the valvetrain from dust and moisture. It keeps engine oil inside, guides PCV vapors, and protects ignition coils. Built to OE geometry, it ensures a precise fit and long service in hot, high-vibration conditions.
Why this part is needed
Heat cycles and age make old covers and gaskets brittle. Small cracks or warping cause oil leaks, burning smells, and sludge. Replacing the cover restores sealing, stabilizes crankcase ventilation, and keeps the engine bay clean. A proper seal also prevents vacuum leaks that upset fuel trims.
How it works βοΈ
The cover bolts to the cylinder head with a molded gasket. Internal baffles separate oil from blow-by gases, routing cleaned vapors to the intake via the PCV system, while oil drains back to the sump. It also provides mounting for coil packs and maintains correct compression on the gasket with even torque.
If the cover fails β
Expect oil seepage on the head and exhaust, blue smoke, burnt-oil odor, misfires from oil-soaked coils, rough idle, high oil use, and possible check engine lights for PCV faults. Prolonged leaks can swell hoses, degrade belts, and, in extreme cases, risk engine bay fire if oil reaches hot components.
Tech notes
Always fit a new gasket, clean mating surfaces, and torque bolts in sequence to spec. Inspect the PCV valve and replace coil seals if equipped. Use quality, heat-resistant materials for lasting results.
