Engine Intake Valve – Precise Airflow Control for Smooth Power βš™οΈ

This engine component is essential for controlling how fresh air enters the combustion chamber. It helps your Mitsubishi engine breathe correctly, keeping idle stable, power responsive, and fuel burn efficient. When it seals and opens at the right moment, the cylinder fills properly, supporting strong acceleration and lower emissions.

How It Works

The valve moves up and down in the cylinder head, guided by the valve stem and controlled by the camshaft. When it opens, air (or air/fuel mix depending on the system) flows into the cylinder. When it closes, it must seal tightly so compression stays high. Proper seating and stem clearance are critical for performance and longevity.

Why Replacement May Be Needed βœ…

Over time, heat, carbon buildup, poor lubrication, or incorrect timing can wear the valve face and seat. Replacing it restores correct sealing, airflow, and combustion quality.

If It’s Worn or Damaged

  • Hard starting, rough idle, misfires
  • Loss of compression and noticeable power drop
  • Backfiring through intake, higher fuel use
  • Burned valve can lead to cylinder head repairs
