Engine Cylinder Head Assembly ?οΈ
This component sits on top of the engine block and βclosesβ the cylinders so the engine can build proper compression. It is needed to seal the combustion chambers, guide airflow, and support the valvetrain area so the engine can breathe and run smoothly.
How it works βοΈ
Air and fuel enter through the intake passages, exhaust gases leave through the exhaust passages, and the head keeps everything separated while handling extreme heat and pressure. It mates to the block with a head gasket, keeping compression, coolant, and oil in their correct routes. When the sealing and passages are right, you get stable power, clean running, and normal operating temperature.
If itβs damaged β
A cracked or warped unit can cause loss of compression, misfires, hard starting, overheating, coolant loss, white smoke, milky oil, or constant pressure in the cooling system. Ignoring these signs may lead to piston damage, bearing wear, and a full engine rebuild.
