Rear spring shackle kit (ref 04483-60140) 🛠️

This kit restores the rear suspension pivot on leaf-spring vehicles. It links the spring eye to the chassis hanger, letting the spring change length as it flexes. Fresh pins, plates, and bushings keep the axle centered, ride height correct, and the tail end quiet. Ideal for heavy-duty use, towing, or off‑road where shackles see high loads and mud.

Why you need it ✅

Worn shackles and bushings cause clunks, wandering, rear “steer,” and uneven tire wear. Replacing them tightens handling, improves braking stability, and reduces vibration. It also prevents costly spring and hanger damage.

How it works ⚙️

The shackle forms a pivoting link between the leaf spring and frame. Bushings isolate noise while the pins rotate in a greased sleeve, allowing smooth arc movement through bumps and load changes.

When it’s bad ⚠️

Symptoms include metallic knock over bumps, sagging rear, tilted axle, rapid bushing crumble, seized bolts, and rusted plates. In extreme cases the spring can shift, risking loss of control.

Tech notes 🧩

Replace in pairs, torque with vehicle on its wheels, lubricate sleeves, and recheck fasteners after 100–200 km. Inspect U-bolts and spring eyes at the same time.
