Rear Leaf Spring Shackle Kit 🛠️
This kit connects the rear leaf spring to the chassis and lets the suspension move freely. It keeps the shackle angle correct, holds ride height, and reduces noise. Why you need it ✅
Over time, bushings dry, crack, and compress. Bolts seize and plates rust thin. That causes rear-end clunks, squeaks, drift on braking, and a tail that sits lower than normal. Replacing the assembly returns proper alignment and comfort.
How it works 🔧
Two shackle plates, pivot bolts, and bushings form a hinged link between frame and spring eye. As the axle moves, the hinge swings, controlling arc length and keeping the leaf pack from binding.
If it’s worn or broken ⚠️
Expect harsh ride, metal-on-metal noise, wandering on the highway, and uneven tire wear. Severe failure can shift the axle, stress shocks and brake hoses, or let the spring contact the body—risking loss of control. Replace in pairs and torque with vehicle at normal ride height.
