Power Steering Pump Seal & Gasket Set ️
This seal and gasket set is needed whenever the power steering pump is leaking, sweating fluid, or being rebuilt after high mileage. Its job is simple: keep hydraulic pressure inside the pump while blocking air and dirt from entering the system. A tight pump means smooth, quiet steering and stable assist at low speed and during parking.
How it works ⚙️
Inside the pump, pressurized fluid passes through chambers and passages. The included gaskets and O-rings clamp between pump housings, cover plates, and fittings, creating a fluid-tight barrier. This prevents pressure loss, keeps the pump primed, and helps the steering system respond instantly when you turn the wheel.
Signs the seals are failing
What happens if you ignore it
Worn seals can cause fluid drips, whining noise, foamy fluid, heavy steering, and uneven assist. If leakage becomes severe, the pump may run low on fluid, overheat, score internal parts, and eventually seize—risking damage to the belt and steering components. Fixing the seal points early is far cheaper than replacing the whole pump.
