Body Mount Insulator, 5th Position — Restore Ride Comfort and Frame Alignment

This chassis-to-body isolator is the cushioned link that keeps your 4x4’s cabin quiet and correctly spaced from the ladder frame. It cuts NVH (noise, vibration, harshness),maintains door and panel gaps, and protects the shell from harsh impacts off-road and on highways. A fresh insulator means fewer rattles, tighter steering feel, and longer life for mounts and bolts .

How it works

A rubber-elastomer bushing bonded to steel washers and a center sleeve supports body weight at the 5th mount point. The through-bolt clamps the assembly, while the elastomer flexes to absorb road shock and engine/frame vibration. Correct height shims preserve body-to-frame geometry .

If worn or broken

Expect clunks over bumps, floor buzz, wandering feel, uneven gaps, and door misalignment. Severe failure can cause metal-to-metal contact, accelerated corrosion, cracked mounts, or sheared bolts ⚠️.

Tech tips

• OEM-grade elastomer, corrosion-resistant sleeve
• Torque with vehicle on its wheels
• Replace in pairs or as a set for even ride height
