Rear Tailgate Handle Assembly

This exterior handle lets you safely open the rear gate when loading tools, cargo, or gear. It’s a small part that takes big daily abuse from dirt, water, gloves, and repeated pulling—especially on work trucks.

Why this part is needed ✅

The tailgate latch cannot release without a solid pull point. This handle provides the correct leverage and grip so the latch mechanism can disengage smoothly without bending rods or stressing the lock.

How it works ⚙️

When you lift or pull the handle, it moves an internal lever that transfers force to the latch rods/cables. That action releases the latch claws, allowing the gate to drop open. A good handle keeps the motion aligned, reducing wear on the latch and lock.
