This oil seal is a critical barrier that keeps engine oil exactly where it belongs—inside the housing—while allowing a rotating shaft to spin freely. It’s needed to prevent oil loss, protect nearby bearings, and stop contamination (dust, moisture, road grime) from entering the engine or transmission area.

How It Works ⚙️

The sealing lip rides on the shaft surface with a controlled spring tension. As the shaft rotates, the lip maintains a tight contact line and forms a thin oil film that reduces friction and heat. The outer shell locks firmly into the case bore to stop seepage around the seal body.

What Happens If It Fails ?
