Front Left Wheel Speed Sensor for Toyota

⚙️ This sensor is a key part of the ABS and stability control system. It is needed to measure how fast the front left wheel is turning, so the car can brake safely and keep traction on wet, icy, or uneven roads.

How It Works

The sensor reads a rotating tone ring (or magnetic encoder) near the hub. It sends a clean speed signal to the ABS/Skid Control ECU. The ECU compares all wheel speeds in real time and adjusts brake pressure to prevent wheel lock-up. It also supports traction control and vehicle stability functions when fitted.

Why Replacement Matters

If this sensor is broken, dirty, or has wiring damage, the ECU may lose accurate wheel speed data. This can trigger ABS/VSC warning lights, disable ABS assist, and cause harsh or incorrect brake intervention. In some cases you may notice speed-related faults, longer stopping distance on slippery roads, or pulsing that feels “wrong” during braking.
