Why you need it ⚙️

Modern engines rely on closed-loop control. Without accurate O2 feedback, fuel trims drift, emissions spike, and performance drops. A fresh sensor restores efficiency and lowers running costs.

How it works

Mounted in the exhaust stream, the zirconia element compares oxygen inside the pipe to outside air and creates a small voltage. The built-in heater brings it to operating temp quickly, so the ECU can adjust fueling in real time for city and highway driving.

When it fails

Expect rough idle, flat spots, hard starts, poor MPG, fuel smell, and a glowing MIL. The ECU may go open loop and run rich, risking catalytic converter damage and inspection failure. Typical fault codes include P0130–P0135/P0136.

Tech tips

Install with sensor-safe anti-seize, torque correctly, fix any upstream leaks, and reset fuel trims after replacement. Works as a direct plug to the factory harness for a clean fit.
