Airbag Impact Sensor Module

This safety sensor is a key part of the SRS airbag system. It is needed to detect a crash instantly and send a clean signal to the airbag control unit, so the airbags can deploy at the right time. Without a reliable sensor, the system cannot “judge” impact correctly, which puts driver and passengers at risk ⚠️

How It Works

Inside the unit, a calibrated accelerometer measures rapid deceleration. When impact force passes a set threshold, the sensor transmits data to the SRS ECU. The ECU cross-checks inputs (impact direction, severity, and timing) and then triggers airbags and seatbelt pretensioners if required. This fast decision happens in milliseconds ?
