Why you need it

This unit restores strong cabin heat and fast defrost in cold weather. It keeps the HVAC system efficient, stops fogged windows, and stabilizes engine cooling flow. How it works

Hot coolant circulates through an aluminum mini-radiator hidden in the dash. The blower pushes air across dense fins; the blend door guides that warmed air to the vents. Factory-spec tanks, brazed joints, and seals hold pressure and resist vibration. Direct-fit dimensions ensure a smooth drop-in swap, with pressure-tested, leak-free performance.

When it fails

Watch for a sweet coolant smell, misty film on glass, damp passenger carpet, low coolant level, gurgling behind the dash, or weak heat. Driving like this risks poor defrost, cabin fogging, heater hose failures, and even engine overheating on long climbs.

Tech notes

Install with new O-rings, flush the cooling system, use the correct Subaru coolant, and bleed air fully. Do not bend fins or tanks. Inspect hoses and clamps, and renew foam seals for proper airflow and quiet operation.
