Rear Spring Bushing β Smooth, Quiet Suspension οΈ
This OEM-grade, direct-fit rear leaf spring bushing sits in the eye of the spring and connects it to the hanger or shackle. It isolates road shock, keeps the axle centered, and stops metal-to-metal contact. With a fresh bushing, you get stable tracking, reduced noise, and longer tire lifeβperfect for daily use, towing, or light off-road.
Why you need it
It reduces noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH),holds rear alignment, and maintains correct pinion angle. A good bushing also controls side movement so the body stays steady in corners and under braking.
How it works
A corrosion-treated inner sleeve and tough elastomer body clamp between the spring eye and bolt. As the suspension moves, the rubber twists slightly, acting like a hinge and mini-damper. This guides the spring in one plane while filtering impacts and road buzz.
When worn or broken β οΈ
- Clunks over bumps, low-speed squeaks
- Rear steer or wander, especially with crosswinds
- Uneven tire wear, shimmy, or poor braking stability
- Axle shift under throttle; driveshaft vibration
- Visible cracks, crushed rubber, or ovalized spring eye
Tech notes
Replace in pairs per axle. Torque bolts at ride height. Inspect shackles and hangers for wear. Grease hardware if specified. Check alignment after installation for best results.
