Front Strut Top Mount Insulator with Bearing

This upper mount is the key interface between the MacPherson strut and the body. It supports vehicle weight, isolates road noise and vibration, and allows smooth steering. Why this part is needed ️

The mount centers the strut, holds the spring seat, and maintains camber/caster. Its rubber insulator filters shocks, while the integrated bearing lets the strut rotate with the steering, keeping the wheel response light and precise.

How it works ⚙️

A bonded rubber/steel plate bolts to the strut tower. A thrust bearing sits above the spring seat and turns as you steer. The rubber layer absorbs impacts; the bearing prevents spring wind-up, ensuring quiet, controlled motion.

If the mount fails ⚠️

Expect clunks over bumps, creaks while turning, heavy or “memory” steering, and uneven tire wear. Alignment may drift, the car can wander, and NVH rises due to metal-to-metal contact. Long-term neglect can stress the strut rod and tower.

Replace in pairs, inspect spring seat and dust boot, torque under vehicle load, and perform a wheel alignment after installation.
