Suspension Rebound/Bump Stop for Honda Compact Series

This rubber-foam stop sits on the strut shaft under the dust boot. Its job is simple and vital: limit extreme suspension travel, cushion the last millimeters of movement, and keep the damper from hitting its mechanical limits. The result is a quieter ride, better body control, and longer life for shocks, mounts, and springs.

Why you need it โœ…

Over time, the stop hardens, cracks, or crumbles from heat and road salt. Without it, the strut can top-out or bottom-out, causing harsh knocks, steering shake, and accelerated wear of seals and bearings. It also protects alignment by keeping geometry in range during big bumps.

How it works ๏ธ

Made from microcellular polyurethane, it compresses progressively. On jounce, it acts as a secondary spring to absorb impact. On rebound, it prevents the piston from overextending. This controlled cushion reduces shock loads on the chassis and keeps tires glued to the road.

If itโ€™s broken

Youโ€™ll hear clunks over bumps, feel sharp impacts, see uneven tire wear, and may notice longer stopping distances on rough roads. Strut oil leaks and torn mounts often follow.

Tech notes

Replace in axle pairs, inspect the dust boot, torque with the vehicle at ride height, and check wheel alignment after installation.
