Made from dense, elastic rubber, it sits on the shock/strut assembly and compresses progressively. As the suspension bottoms out, it absorbs impact energy, slows down the movement, and reduces vibration transfer to the cabin. What Happens If It’s Worn or Broken ❗

If cracked, missing, or hardened, the suspension can bottom out violently. You may hear knocking, feel sharp impacts, and notice poor control over bumps. Over time it can damage the shock rod seal, bend mounts, accelerate bushing wear, and even affect wheel alignment and tire wear.
