Why you need it

Over time, heat, dirt, and moisture break down seals and corrosion forms in the bore. A fresh caliper restores full hydraulic efficiency, prevents dragging, and keeps stopping distance short—especially important when towing or driving off-road.

How it works

When you press the pedal, fluid pushes the piston forward. The pads squeeze the disc, converting motion into heat. After release, the seal’s elastic memory retracts the piston slightly, preventing drag and overheating.

If it’s failing

Signs include fluid leaks, spongy pedal, pull to the right, uneven pad wear, hot wheel, grinding, or ABS warnings. Ignoring it can warp the rotor, cook pads, increase fuel use, and dramatically extend stopping distance—serious safety risk.

Tech notes

Always flush fresh DOT-spec fluid, torque guide pins properly, lubricate slides with high-temp grease, and bed pads after installation.
