Front Locking Hub Assembly for Toyota 4WD

Why this part is needed

When you select 4WD, the locking mechanism couples the wheel hub to the drive axle so power goes to the ground. In 2WD, it uncouples to protect CV joints and bearings, saving fuel and extending service life.

How it works ⚙️

A splined clutch sleeve, hub body, and cam/gear set engage together. Turning the dial or actuator slides the sleeve over the axle splines. Quality needle bearings support rotation; seals retain grease and keep contaminants out.

What happens if it’s broken

Symptoms include clicking, free-spinning front shafts, no 4WD engagement, water ingress, uneven tire wear, and higher fuel use. Stuck engaged causes vibration and CV wear; stuck free leaves you without front drive when it counts.
