OE-Grade Rear Brake Drum Assembly for Toyota
This part restores strong, even stopping on the rear axle. It replaces a worn drum so your brakes grab smoothly, your parking brake holds better, and heat is controlled on long descents. Built from high-carbon cast iron for stable friction and good heat dissipation.
How it works οΈ
The drum mounts to the hub/axle flange and spins with the wheel. When you press the pedal, the wheel cylinder pushes the shoes outward. The linings rub the inner surface of the drum, creating friction that slows and holds the vehicle. A true, smooth bore keeps contact even and reduces vibration.
Why you need it β
Old drums can go out-of-round, score, or overheat (blue spots). That causes pedal pulsation, squeal, longer stopping distance, and weak handbrake. Excess wear increases inner diameter beyond spec, reducing braking force.
If itβs damaged or ignored β οΈ
Expect poor rear braking, pulling, faster shoe wear, overheating, and potential cracking. In extreme cases, rear brake fade and extended stopping distances can occur, risking loss of control.
Fitment & install tips
Designed for Toyota models with rear drum brakes (RWD/4x4 light trucks and SUVs). Always replace in pairs. Clean hub face, remove rust, and degrease the friction surface. Adjust shoes to light drag, torque wheel nuts evenly, and bed the brakes with gentle stops for 200β300 km.
Tech notes
Precision-balanced, corrosion-protected, and machined to OE tolerances for concentricity and runout. Measure inner diameter; replace if beyond limit. Pair with fresh shoes and hardware for best results.
