Why this part is needed

Without a secure retainer, the side flange can walk out of its seat. That causes uneven contact, extra stress on splines and bearings, and can lead to leaks at the seal surface. Installing a fresh circlip is a simple way to restore factory retention and reduce future failures ?

How it works

The circlip snaps into a machined groove. Once seated, it acts like a mechanical stop, holding the flange from sliding outward while still allowing normal rotation. Proper fit and spring tension are critical for reliable holding force.

What happens if it’s broken

A weak or cracked circlip may let the flange move, causing clunks, vibration, oil seepage, accelerated bearing wear, and in worst cases loss of drive to the wheel. If removed, always replace—reusing a stretched ring is risky ⚠️
