Rear Differential Pinion Oil Seal – Keep Gear Oil In, Keep Trouble Out ⚙️️

This OE-grade pinion seal is built to stop leaks at the front nose of the rear differential on select Nissan/Infiniti RWD platforms. It locks in lubricant and blocks dust and water so your ring-and-pinion and bearings stay protected mile after mile.

Why you need it

High-speed pinion rotation needs a stable oil film. A fresh seal maintains that film and prevents contamination. Without it, lubrication thins out, heat rises, and expensive gear sets wear quickly.

How it works

A steel-backed elastomer body with a garter spring grips the companion flange. Hydrodynamic ribs manage oil at the lip while the press-fit outer shell holds steady in the housing. The result: a tight, low-friction barrier under all temperatures.

If the seal is broken

• Wet differential snout or oil on the driveshaft area
• Spots of gear oil under the car and a sulfur smell
• Whine or howl on accel/coast from low fluid
• Overheated bearings and chipped gear teeth ⚠️

Pro install notes

Inspect the yoke for grooves; add a repair sleeve if needed. Clean the bore, drive the seal square, and lightly oil the lip—never install dry. Mark the pinion nut and count turns, or set preload to spec. Refill with GL-5 75W-90 and confirm the axle breather is clear ✅.
