Drive Pinion Oil Seal for Nissan/Infiniti Differentials

Why you need it ✅

Hypoid gears run under heavy load and heat. Without a tight seal, lubricant escapes, metal parts run dry, and expensive noise and wear follow. A fresh seal prevents leaks and stabilizes preload and temperature.

How it works ⚙️

An elastomer lip, tensioned by a garter spring, rides on the pinion flange. Micro ribs channel fluid back in, and a metal shell keeps the seal square in the housing. The design handles 75W‑90/140 oils and shaft speeds without glazing.

If it fails

Look for wet streaks on the nose of the diff, driveway spots, gear whine on throttle, or burnt oil smell. Continued driving risks bearing pitting, gear scoring, yoke wobble, and a full differential rebuild.

Pro install tips

Mark pinion nut and flange, measure preload, and reinstall to the same spec. Inspect the yoke seal surface; add a repair sleeve if grooved. Lightly oil the lip, press the seal square, verify vent is clear, and refill to the fill plug level.
