Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor for Honda vehicles ️

This OEM-grade ECT sensor tells the engine computer the exact coolant temperature. With that data, the ECU adjusts fuel mix, ignition timing, idle speed, and fans. You get smooth cold starts, strong drivability, clean emissions, and protected cooling system. Ideal for restoring factory behavior after age, corrosion, or erratic readings.

Why this part is needed

Modern injection systems rely on precise temperature input. A fresh sensor keeps warm-up enrichment correct, prevents over-fueling, and helps the radiator fan switch on at the right moment. It also supports accurate A/C and transmission strategies.

How it works

Inside is an NTC thermistor in the coolant stream. As temperature rises, resistance falls. The ECU reads the voltage and maps it to actual °C, then controls mixture, timing, and fan relays accordingly. The sealed body and correct thread ensure leak-free fit.

If the sensor is faulty ⚠️

• Hard cold starts or stalling
• High idle, poor MPG, black smoke
• Fan not engaging or stuck on
• Overheating risk, CEL (P0115–P0119)
• Rich/lean running and rough shifts

Replace promptly to avoid catalyst damage and overheating.

Install tips

Work on a cool engine. Unplug connector, catch a little coolant, unscrew sensor, fit new sealing washer, torque gently, reconnect, top up and bleed air. Clear fault codes and verify fan operation.
