How it works

What happens if it’s broken

Expect wet housing, burning-oil smell, drips under the car, whining under load, hard shifts, or AWD faults. Running low on fluid can score bearings, pit gears, and damage the CVT—often requiring a full rebuild.

Tech tips

Inspect vent lines, replace worn bushings that cause shaft wobble, and lightly oil the lip on install. Use the correct driver, seat squarely, and verify the dust lip faces out. Always top up with the specified CVT/gear fluid.
