Gear Selector Rod Oil Seal ️

This small seal is a big deal inside the transmission/shift mechanism. Its job is to keep gear oil safely inside the case while the striking/selector rod moves in and out during shifting. A good seal prevents leaks, keeps dirt out, and helps the shifter feel clean and consistent.

Why this seal is needed

The selector rod passes through the housing, so there must be a tight, flexible barrier around it. This oil seal holds pressure and stops splash oil from escaping when the gearbox is hot and spinning at speed.

How it works

The sealing lip rides on the rod surface with a light spring tension. As the rod moves, the lip maintains contact, wiping oil back inward while blocking dust and moisture from entering.
