Manual Gearbox Shift Fork for 3rd & 4th Gear ⚙️

This transmission shift fork is a key internal selector piece that lets your manual gearbox engage 3rd and 4th gears smoothly. It is needed because the driver’s gear lever movement must be transferred into precise sliding action inside the gearbox—without this part, the synchronizer sleeve cannot move to lock the chosen gear.

How it works ?️

The fork rides on a selector rail and fits into the groove of the synchro sleeve. When you shift, the rail pushes the fork, and the fork slides the sleeve to engage 3rd or 4th gear. Correct fork shape and hardness keep the sleeve centered, prevent drag, and help the synchros do their job quietly.

If it’s worn or broken ?

A bent or cracked fork can cause hard shifting, gear grind, popping out of gear, or loss of 3rd/4th engagement. Continued driving may damage the synchro hub, sleeve, and gear teeth, turning a small internal repair into a full gearbox rebuild.
