Why this part is needed

How it works

The ECU sends a pulse-width signal to the solenoid. The magnetic plunger opens or closes oil passages, routing ATF to clutch packs and bands. Accurate modulation equals clean upshifts, downshifts, and torque converter lock-up. Fine screens help keep debris out of the valve body.

What happens if it’s broken ❗

Stuck or burned solenoids cause no-shift, flare between gears, bang shifts, limp mode, overheating ATF, and metal contamination. Continued driving can glaze clutches and lead to a full rebuild.
