CVT Revolution/Speed Sensor Assembly ⚙️

Why you need it ?

This small yet vital transmission sensor feeds real‑time shaft and pulley speed to the TCM. With that data the CVT adjusts ratio, line pressure, and lock‑up, giving smooth starts, stable cruising, and correct engine RPM. A fresh, OEM‑grade replacement restores proper gearbox feedback, improves fuel economy, and prevents premature belt/pulley wear.

How it works ?

Inside sits a Hall‑effect element and magnet. As a toothed ring or reluctor passes the tip, the sensor creates clean pulses. The TCM counts these pulses to know input/output speed and slip. It then commands solenoids to set the right ratio and clutch pressure. Plug‑and‑play connector and sealed body keep signals stable under heat and ATF.

What if it fails ❗

Expect harsh or delayed take‑off, flare, shudder, limp mode, poor MPG, and a Check Engine light. Common OBD codes include P0715, P0720, P0722, P0791. Ignoring it can overheat the CVT and damage the belt or pulleys.

Tech tips ?

Replace the O‑ring, keep the tip clean, torque to spec, and clear codes/adaptations after installation.
