Precision Gearbox Position Sensor for Honda

This electronic position sensor is a key input for the transmission and engine control units. It tells the car exactly which selector/range is chosen (P/R/N/D and other steps),helping the system allow safe starting, smooth shifting, and correct torque management. ✅

Why this part is needed

Modern Honda drivetrains rely on accurate position feedback to prevent wrong-gear engagement and to coordinate shift timing. When the sensor reports the correct range, the ECU/TCU can apply the right pressure and strategy for clean gear changes.

How it works

Inside the sensor, a calibrated electrical track and contact (or hall-type element) converts shifter movement into a voltage/resistance signal. That signal is read by the control module, which confirms the selected range and enables starter interlock and shift logic. ⚙️

What happens if it’s broken

A failing sensor may cause no-crank, harsh/late shifts, incorrect gear display, limp mode, or intermittent reverse/drive engagement. You may also see warning lights and stored transmission codes. Ignoring it can lead to extra clutch wear and unsafe operation. ⚠️
