Fuel Level Sender for Accurate Dash Reading β½
This component is fitted inside the fuel tank to measure how much fuel is left and send that signal to the dashboard gauge. It is needed to prevent unexpected run-outs, keep trip planning accurate, and help the driver react early to low fuel conditions.
How It Works ?
A float moves up and down with the fuel level. That movement changes the resistance on an internal track, and the gauge interprets it as a fuel level reading. Smooth float travel and a clean contact surface are key for stable, reliable needle movement.
What Happens If It Fails β οΈ
When worn or damaged, the gauge may stick on Full/Empty, jump around, or show fuel incorrectly. This can cause false low-fuel warnings, unexpected stalling from an empty tank, and confusion during refueling. In some cases, poor electrical contact may also lead to intermittent readings.
