This sensor is a key engine management part that measures the amount of air entering the intake system. The engine control unit uses this signal to set the correct fuel injection, ignition timing, and idle control. When the reading is accurate, the engine runs smooth, starts easily, and gives better fuel economy.

Why This Part Is Needed

Every modern petrol engine needs a clean air-fuel mixture. Too much fuel causes high consumption and smoke; too little fuel causes hesitation and poor power. This sensor helps keep the mixture balanced in city traffic, highway driving, cold starts, and acceleration.

How It Works ⚙️

The sensor sits in the air intake duct after the air filter. As air passes through, an electronic measuring element detects airflow volume and sends a voltage signal to the ECU. The ECU then adjusts fuel delivery in real time for stable combustion.

Signs of Failure

If this part is faulty or dirty, the vehicle may show rough idle, engine stalling, slow throttle response, hard starting, increased fuel use, or a check engine light. Driving too long with a bad sensor can damage spark plugs, catalytic converter, and cause poor engine performance.
